In 1998 I started writing my first novel. I hadn’t a clue what I was doing, just started straight in, longhand in one of the sort of notebooks that have flowered covers and cream-coloured paper. 10 years, a second and now most of third, mystery novel written, multiple short stories, writing courses, writing weekend retreats, contests entered and agents queried, and my first book was published in 2009. It’s that first novel, spell-checked, converted to American English, and rewritten to remove the stilted language of the first-time author trying too hard. Murderous Roots was published by Write Words Inc. See it at http://www/writewordsinc. and Amazon.com, in paper and e-book.
The Facepainter Murders, published in 2010 and 2011(paper), available as above, is book two in my Dangerous Journeys series.
No Motive for Murder, the third in the Dangerous Journeys series is on its way. Watch for it on Amazon.com and at writewordsinc.com

Congratulations on the publishing of your book, that is quite an achievement. Our aunt Iris mentioned to me that you had done so, and a little internet searching led me to your blog. Congratulations also on your retirement, all of us who make it past the sixth decade deserve a rest, or at least a change of venue. Please excuse all spelling mistakes because I see no spellcheck on this site. Good luck in the days to come.

Good Day Dr. Winters,
I am working on a series of articles following people who made a major contribution to the community through their careers and would like to share what you have been up to since retirement with our readers.
Would you please kindly contact me as soon as conveniently possible?
Thank you
Catherine Whitnall
Hi I am also retiring on Dec. 30/11 and have just completed my first romance novel and have been declined by Harlequin and Avon Impulse. Not sure how to proceed since I do not wish to self publish. Do you have any suggestions for someone like me starting out on who to approach etc. Any input would be sincerely appreciated.
